Privacy policy

1.Who is responsible for your data

AsatekUP, a tech recruitment platform based in Antananarivo (Madagascar), is responsible for the data collected on the platform. For any question: contact@asatekup.com.

2.Data we collect

• —Account: email address, name, role (candidate or recruiter), profile photo and display language.
• —Sign-in: a one-time code is sent to you by email. If you use Google, we receive your name and email address; with LinkedIn, also your photo and an access token, used to share your jobs when you ask to.
• —Candidate profile: resume (headline, experience, education, skills, languages, projects, interests), phone, location, availability, GitHub, LinkedIn and portfolio links, salary expectations, certificates earned and technical assessment results.
• —Recruiter profile: company, logo, description, published jobs and invoices.
• —Activity: applications and their progress, messages exchanged, alerts and followed companies, notification preferences, profile views by recruiters and the number of clicks on share links.
• —Technical data: sign-in and security logs needed to run and protect the service.

3.Why we use it

• —Provide the service: create your account, sign you in, publish jobs, apply and exchange messages.
• —Match people: compute the match between a resume and a job, suggest relevant jobs or profiles.
• —Keep you informed: job alerts, application updates, messages and notifications, according to your preferences.
• —Protect the platform: prevent fraud, handle reports and suspend accounts that break the terms of use.
• —Invoice recruiters' plans and job promotions.

4.AI assistant and resume import

Some features rely on artificial intelligence from OpenAI: importing a PDF resume, suggesting a summary, helping write cover letters, job posts and LinkedIn posts, generating and reviewing technical assessments. Only the information needed by the feature you use is sent.

When you import a PDF resume, the document is sent to OpenAI while it is analysed, to extract your information. AsatekUP does not keep the file: only the information created in your resume is saved, and you can edit or delete it in the editor. Each account can import one resume.

Content suggested by AI is only a suggestion: you remain free to edit it or not use it.

5.Who sees what

• —Jobs, company pages and certificates (through their verification link) are public.
• —Your resume can be viewed by anyone with its public link; you can hide your phone number.
• —Signed-in recruiters can find your profile in talent search and contact you through messaging.
• —When you apply, the recruiter of the job sees your application, your resume and your attachments. Your salary expectations are only shown if you choose to share them.
• —A recruiter sees the details of the technical assessments they sent you. Candidates are informed when recruiters view their profile.

6.Service providers and transfers

• —OpenAI, for artificial intelligence features.
• —An email delivery provider, for sign-in codes, alerts and notifications.
• —Google and LinkedIn, only if you use them to sign in or to share a job on LinkedIn.
• —The platform hosting provider.

Some of these providers are located outside Madagascar. We only send them the data they need to provide their service. AsatekUP does not sell your data.

7.Retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, your personal information is erased or anonymised, your jobs are withdrawn and your sessions are closed. Messages already exchanged remain readable by the other person, without your identifying data. Some information may be kept longer when the law requires it, for example for invoicing.

8.Cookies

AsatekUP only uses two cookies needed to run the service: a session cookie that keeps you signed in for a limited time, and a cookie that remembers your display language. No advertising cookie or audience measurement tool is used.

9.Security

Access is protected by one-time codes and revocable sessions, and data is only available to the people who need it. No system is infallible: we will inform you if an incident affects your data.

10.Your rights

Under Malagasy personal data protection law (law no. 2014-038) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can:

• —access your data and request a copy;
• —correct it, directly in your resume, account or settings;
• —erase it, by deleting your account from your settings;
• —refuse non-essential emails, from your notification preferences or the unsubscribe link in every email;
• —withdraw consent, for example by no longer sharing your salary expectations.

11.Changes

This policy may change as the service evolves. The update date is shown at the top of the page; for significant changes, you will be informed on the platform or by email.
